US formally withdraws from UN Human Rights Council

The United States announced on Thursday evening that it has formally withdrawn from the United Nations Human Rights Council, accusing the body of promoting what the US State Department described as "anti-American rhetoric" and appeasing repressive regimes.

Washington also reaffirmed that President Donald Trump’s administration will continue its campaign of financial pressure on Iran.

Trump stated that the United States is approaching a "critical turning point" in its conflict with Iran, suggesting the possibility of resuming large-scale military operations and emphasizing that "all options are on the table."

Meanwhile, the US Treasury Department imposed sanctions on Iran’s digital currency platform Bit Bank, accusing it of transferring hundreds of millions of dollars in bitcoin to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and circumventing sanctions.
