Russian forces target two cargo ships carrying weapons in Black Sea

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Monday that Russian forces targeted fuel tanks belonging to the Ukrainian armed forces at Yuzhny port, as well as two cargo ships in the Black Sea loaded with weapons and military equipment.

In a statement carried by the Russian news agency Sputnik, the ministry said, "The Russian armed forces continue to target the infrastructure of Ukrainian ports and naval vessels belonging to the Ukrainian armed forces."

The statement added: "Two dry cargo ships carrying Ukrainian weapons and military equipment in the Black Sea were also targeted."

The ministry noted that the Russian military regularly targets Ukrainian ships and storage facilities at ports used by the Ukrainian armed forces. Rodion Miroshnik, an ambassador-at-large at the Russian Foreign Ministry, explained that the Kyiv government uses maritime routes to deliver weapons around the clock.

According to the statement, the ministry has repeatedly emphasized that it targets infrastructure used by the Ukrainian armed forces to reduce the military and economic capabilities of Kyiv's forces. To achieve this, Russian forces use attack drones and long-range precision weapons capable of destroying any target in Kyiv.
