Russia holds world's largest gas reserves, says Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that his country possesses the world's largest gas reserves, noting that efforts to expand gasification in Russian regions, including Siberia and the Far East, will continue.

According to Russia's Sputnik news agency, Putin made the remarks via video link during the inauguration of new social gasification facilities on Thursday, emphasizing: "I would like to point out that Russia has the largest gas reserves in the world."

The Russian president added: "Our task is to ensure that this resource (gas reserves) primarily serves our country, supports economic and social development, and improves the quality of life for our citizens."

Putin stressed that Russia holds the world's largest gas reserves, making it one of the state's main responsibilities to ensure this resource benefits the nation and its people.
