US warns of increased risk of violence, kidnapping in Iraq

The US State Department has confirmed an increased risk of violence and kidnapping targeting Americans in Iraq.

It added that the Iraqi government cannot guarantee the safety of US citizens in the event of any escalation, according to Al Arabiya.

The department stated that the highest-level warning for Iraq will remain in place, and also cautioned of potential attacks in the country.
