Iraqi judiciary seizes $20 million, $340,000 and 60 kg of gold in Al-Jumaili case

Iraq’s Supreme Judicial Council announced on Sunday the seizure of $20 million, $340,000, and the recovery of 60 kilograms of gold in the case involving Deputy Oil Minister Adnan Al-Jumaili.

According to a statement from the Central Anti-Corruption Criminal Court, and in coordination with the Kurdistan region, authorities seized $20 million, $340,000, 200 million Iraqi dinars, and recovered 60 kilograms of gold, the Iraqi News Agency reported.

Seven vehicles were also confiscated in the case against Adnan Al-Jumaili, Deputy Minister of Oil for Refining Affairs, who is currently in custody, along with other involved parties. The investigation and follow-up procedures to track down the financial proceeds resulting from losses in projects executed by the accused and his associates led to the seizure of the funds and gold jewelry.
