Hunter Biden reveals Joe Biden's health worsened after prostate cancer diagnosis

Hunter Biden, son of former US President Joe Biden, said his father's health has deteriorated due to prostate cancer, explaining that the disease has spread to his bones and other parts of his body, causing him severe pain.

In a televised interview with the BBC's "Newsnight" program aired on Friday, Hunter Biden said the cancer "has spread to his bones and beyond," describing the condition as extremely painful and exhausting in many ways.

A spokesperson for Joe Biden, who is 83 years old, declined on Saturday to comment on his son's statements regarding his health.

Biden announced in May 2025, less than four months after leaving the White House, that he had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer, noting at the time that the disease had already spread to his bones.

In October 2025, a spokesperson for the former US president said he was undergoing radiation and hormone therapy to combat the illness.

News of Biden's declining health comes as his physical and mental condition has faced intense scrutiny during his presidency, which lasted from 2021 to 2025.

Biden became the oldest person ever elected US president when he won the 2020 election, having previously served as vice president under Barack Obama from 2009 to 2017.

Despite leaving the White House, Biden has continued to make occasional public appearances, including attending the opening ceremony of the Barack Obama Presidential Library in Chicago last June.

Biden's presidential memoirs are scheduled for release on November 17, covering his political career and time in the White House.
