Iran threatens to keep Hormuz Strait closed unless US accepts terms

Iranian Supreme National Security Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaei said the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed unless the United States changes its behavior and accepts Iran’s conditions.

He added that the US must end the war and release Iran’s frozen assets abroad, noting that other conditions have been communicated to Washington through intermediaries.

US President Donald Trump previously stated that “Iranians are not honest and act deceitfully during negotiations with the United States, agreeing in meetings but rejecting through the media.”

He added, “We are frustrated with Iran’s negotiation tactics. If we had not struck, Iran would have acquired nuclear weapons. The war was necessary to prevent that, and we are capable of striking Iran with great force.”
