US military says it destroyed Iran-linked vessel in Gulf of Oman

The US military said on Wednesday it destroyed an Iran-linked sailing vessel last week, adding that the boat had been conducting surveillance and targeting operations against US Navy ships in the Gulf of Oman.

US Central Command stated in a post on X that the incident occurred on October 6, adding, "The crew members were safely evacuated before the vessel was destroyed, and efforts are underway to repatriate them."
