Key Takeaways
AIRegional security researcher Mahmoud Mohieldin said the US Central Command’s announcement of a land-based economic blockade against Iran will be leveraged politically to coordinate support from neighboring countries.
Speaking on the "Huna Al Riyadh" program broadcast on Al Ekhbariya channel, Mohieldin added that the order to form a coordination unit was issued by the commander of US Central Command, not the overall US military chief.
He continued that US Central Command will oversee field operations in cooperation with the Central Intelligence Agency, the Defense Intelligence Agency, and other agencies to secure the military operation against Iran.
Mohieldin noted that these security agencies have staff in US embassies in seven countries and in Russia, which shares a coastline with Iran. These embassies will warn several countries, including Pakistan, as US Central Command aims to halt the supply of military manufacturing components to Iran.
