Iranian parliament speaker to visit Iraq for talks on regional developments

Iran’s Tasnim news agency has reported that Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, will visit Iraq on Monday, leading a high-level parliamentary delegation. The visit aims to discuss regional developments, enhance strategic cooperation between Tehran and Baghdad, and explore joint solutions to promote stability and security in West Asia.

According to the agency, the visit will include meetings with senior Iraqi officials and prominent figures, focusing on ways to strengthen bilateral relations, border security, counterterrorism efforts, economic cooperation, and the implementation of joint agreements.

The visit comes amid rising tensions between Washington and Iran, and follows recent attacks targeting the office of Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and the residence of the local intelligence chief in Erbil.
