Pakistan launches urgent 90-day plan to boost cybersecurity

Pakistan's government has approved a 90-day strategic action plan to enhance cybersecurity, increase the readiness of government institutions, and protect digital infrastructure and systems amid rising cyber threats.

Authorities have instructed provincial governments to expedite the formation of computer emergency response teams to improve preparedness for cyber emergencies.

The government also directed the implementation of the Pakistan Information Security Framework 2026 at both federal and provincial levels, alongside urgent measures to strengthen the protection of digital systems.
