Iran says US return to commitments key to resolving tensions

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that all countries are concerned and want to see an end to the conflict between Iran and the United States as soon as possible.

He added that a return by the United States to its commitments would allow matters to return to the right track.

His remarks followed media reports that US President Donald Trump is considering limited strikes against Iran to curb its actions in the Strait of Hormuz.

In a related development, the US Treasury Secretary said that Washington aims to create conditions that would encourage Iran to come to the negotiating table.
