UK reaffirms support for Yemen government, condemns Houthi escalation

UK Minister for the Middle East Stephen Doughty has condemned the latest escalation by the Houthis in Yemen.

Doughty said the UK strongly condemns the Houthis' reckless escalation and resumption of conflict, reiterating full support for Yemen's legitimate government.

He added that the Houthi escalation is worsening the humanitarian crisis and increasing instability in the country.

His remarks follow renewed escalation by the Iran-backed Houthi militias in areas under their control, as Yemeni armed forces continue to confront them on all fronts.
