Israeli government rejects new Hamas deal, remains silent to avoid angering Trump, analyst says

Political analyst Nazeeh Mujalli said the Israeli government is rejecting the new agreement with Hamas and is remaining silent to avoid angering US President Donald Trump.

In a call with Al Arabiya FM, Mujalli added that when Israel agreed to Trump's plan for Gaza, it did so reluctantly, as it does not seek a peaceful solution to the Palestinian issue, while Trump does.

He continued that Israel will seize any opportunity to stall or evade, and among its objections is its unwillingness to see Palestinian Authority laws implemented, as part of its efforts to create obstacles.

Earlier, the US president announced that Hamas and all armed groups in Gaza had agreed to disarm, and that Israeli forces would withdraw from occupied areas in the Strip.
