Qatar's emir warns region faces one of its most dangerous phases

Qatar’s Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani said the crisis in the region is the result of years of postponement and unrealistic solutions, as the Middle East passes through one of its most dangerous phases.

In his address to the United Nations, he added that from the very first day, Qatar has continued its mediation efforts in Gaza until a ceasefire agreement was reached. He noted that Israeli leaders now openly state that the preferred solution is the displacement of Gaza’s residents—what they call migration—and described what has happened in the enclave as a stain on the conscience of humanity.

He went on to say that wisdom and resilience are two sides of the same coin, and that the opportunity for a peaceful diplomatic solution must not be missed. He reaffirmed Qatar’s belief that the Gulf crisis can be resolved through diplomatic means, emphasizing that the core issue is the regional absence of collective security, which encourages peaceful conflict resolution.

He continued that Qatar has remained a trusted mediator, warning that time does not resolve outstanding disputes but rather increases their cost, stressing that negotiation is the way to resolve differences.
