Hamas urges US, peace envoy to pressure Israel to honor agreement

Hamas has called on the US administration and the peace envoy to exert real pressure on Israel to comply with the agreement.

The group reiterated its commitment to what was agreed upon with mediators and the peace council, according to Al-Sharq.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has linked any withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza to the complete disarmament of Hamas, stressing that his government has not yet approved the US proposal for the enclave and has sent its comments back to Washington.

Netanyahu said Israel remains committed to what he described as its "security interests," insisting that Israeli forces will remain in their current positions until Hamas is fully disarmed.
