Houthi aggression poses threat to global economy and supply chains, Saudi academic warns

Dr. Mutlaq Al-Mutairi, professor of political media at King Saud University, said that "the aggressive behavior of the Houthis is a threat to the global economy and supply chains."

Speaking in an interview with Al-Ekhbariya TV, he added that "the Houthis have neither a political nor a national project, but instead act as a tool for Iran to carry out its demands."

Al-Mutairi noted that "Saudi Arabia is capable of carrying out military campaigns and taking measures at both the military and political levels to secure its vessels."

The comments come as Arab and international reactions continue to condemn the recent attack by Yemen's Houthi group, which targeted a vessel owned by a Saudi company while it was sailing in the Red Sea, amid warnings about the impact on international maritime security and energy supplies.
