US defense secretary: Military action against Iran remains an option

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said on Monday that President Donald Trump's administration does not rule out the use of military force against Iran, even as Washington announced a "decisive economic attack" on Tehran.

Speaking to reporters, he added, "We do not rule out, under any circumstances, the use of military strikes anywhere in the Strait of Hormuz or across Iran," noting that Tehran cannot withstand the economic pressures imposed on it.
