Sudan’s Burhan vows to expel RSF, says group will not rise again

Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council Chairman and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, has pledged to expel the rebel Rapid Support Forces militia and ensure that what he described as “this harsh experience” is never repeated. He stressed that “the rebel militia and those who supported and aided it will not rise again,” during a speech following Friday prayers at Al-Hadrab Mosque in the Shambat area of Khartoum North.

Burhan emphasized that justice for the blood of the people and the restoration of their rights is “a duty that will not be neglected.” He prayed for the souls of the nation’s martyrs, saying they “sacrificed their pure blood for the country’s progress, dignity, and honor.”

The council chairman praised the residents of Shambat for their steadfastness and sincere support for the armed forces, commending the area’s historic role in promoting education, solidarity, and aid for those in need, as well as its commitment to the welfare of the Muslim community.

Burhan reiterated that the Sudanese people are the true backbone and solid foundation of the country and its national institutions. He expressed appreciation for the prayers and sincere supplications of religious leaders, asking God to purify Sudan and deliver it from those who seek to undermine its sovereignty.

He called for unity and cooperation among all segments of society to overcome current challenges and to stand firm against external threats targeting the country’s unity, sovereignty, and stability.
