Egypt's Sisi urges Iran to halt attacks on Arab states

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi urged his Iranian counterpart, Masoud Pezeshkian, to halt any attacks on Arab countries, stressing the importance of upholding good neighborly principles and strengthening the historical and cultural ties that unite the region's peoples.

The remarks came during a meeting between the two leaders on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi, according to a statement from the Egyptian presidency.

During the meeting, El-Sisi also reaffirmed Egypt's firm position in supporting efforts to restore stability in the region. He expressed Egypt's hope that Iran would make every possible effort to de-escalate tensions and reach a comprehensive and sustainable peaceful settlement to the crisis, ensuring the sovereignty of regional states and safeguarding the interests of their peoples.
