Syrian army foils two drug smuggling attempts from Lebanon

The Syrian army has announced it thwarted two attempts to smuggle drugs, including crystal meth and hashish, in the Talkalakh area of Homs province and Ras al-Maara in Qalamoun, both coming from Lebanon.

In a statement published by the Syrian News Agency, the army said the operation is part of ongoing efforts to cut off smuggling routes and prevent these substances from reaching Syrian territory and local markets, according to the agency.

The drugs were being transported from the Lebanese side toward Syrian territory before border guard forces intervened and foiled the smuggling attempt.
