Muslim World League condemns Israeli ministers’ remarks on Palestinian displacement

The Muslim World League has strongly condemned statements made by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Defense Minister Yisrael Katz regarding the displacement of the Palestinian people from Gaza, including proposals and mechanisms aimed at forcibly removing Palestinians from their land.

In a statement from its General Secretariat, Secretary-General and Chairman of the Association of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, denounced these unacceptable and condemned remarks, stressing that they reflect ongoing Israeli violations of all international and humanitarian laws and norms in the occupied Palestinian territories, and undermine peace efforts.

Al-Issa emphasized the urgent need for the international community to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities to immediately halt all Israeli violations and attempts to impose new demographic or geographic realities in the occupied Palestinian territories. He also strongly welcomed the joint statement issued by the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Qatar, and Egypt on this matter, expressing their steadfast solidarity with the Palestinian people and unwavering support for their legitimate rights, foremost among them the right to establish an independent Palestinian state in line with the two-state solution and relevant international resolutions, as the only path to achieving just and lasting peace in the region.
