The Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedoms has documented 43 crimes and violations committed by the Iran-backed Houthi militia in Taiz province over the past 24 hours. The incidents resulted in the deaths of five civilians, injuries to 17 others, damage to seven homes and 12 private vehicles, as well as partial damage to Al-Safwa Hospital and Al-Saeed Mosque in Taiz city.

In its report released today, the network said the victims included five-year-old Ahlam Abdulsalam, who was killed inside her family home in the Haysban area of Al-Misrakh district as a result of shelling targeting residential villages in the province's countryside.

The report noted that the 17 injured included women, children, and elderly people. The Houthi militia reportedly fired more than 180 projectiles at residential neighborhoods across several districts, including mortar shells, artillery, howitzers, Katyusha rockets, and tank shells, in addition to drone attacks.

The network highlighted that the shelling caused damage to homes, vehicles, and civilian facilities, including Al-Safwa Hospital and Al-Saeed Mosque, posing a threat to civilian safety and hindering patients' access to healthcare services.

The network warned of a worsening humanitarian situation in the province due to ongoing shelling, siege, and restrictions on aid deliveries. It cited reports and testimonies of shortages in basic goods and sharp increases in the prices of food, water, fuel, and medicine, exacerbating the suffering of families, especially children, patients, and the elderly.

The network called on the international community and the United Nations to take urgent action to halt attacks on civilian sites, protect civilians, medical facilities, and places of worship. It urged the lifting of restrictions on the movement of residents and the safe, regular delivery of food, water, fuel, medicine, and humanitarian aid. The network also called for an end to child recruitment, the release and rehabilitation of child soldiers, and the provision of necessary care for them.
