US vows continued diplomatic and economic isolation of Iran

The US State Department said it will continue working with American allies to diplomatically and economically isolate Iran.

The department added that the United States will also keep holding Iran accountable for arming international waterways, noting that safeguarding navigation in the Strait of Hormuz is a global interest.

Former US President Donald Trump had affirmed that the United States would launch strikes against Iran in response to attacks targeting Jordan.

Strikes in the Middle East have resumed, with the US military launching raids on an area near the border with Iraq in northwestern Iran.
