Kremlin: Europe mobilizing military resources against Russia

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said there are currently no signs of improvement in relations between Moscow and Europe, noting that European countries are adopting a confrontational approach toward Russia.

According to Russia's Interfax news agency, Peskov added that Moscow must recognize that Europeans "are mobilizing military resources against Russia," referring to what Moscow sees as an escalation in Europe's stance. He said there are no grounds for improving relations between Moscow and Europe.

Peskov's remarks come amid ongoing tensions between Russia and European countries over the war in Ukraine, with Moscow asserting that European positions have become increasingly confrontational.

The Kremlin spokesman said Russia remains open to building relations with Europe, but this requires dealing with the current reality, while Moscow sees no clear basis for improved ties at this stage.

This comes as European support for Ukraine continues and concerns over continental security rise. Moscow denies accusations that it is preparing to attack NATO countries. Meanwhile, European officials were quoted today as saying there is no evidence that Russia is preparing an assault on alliance members.

In recent days, Russia has warned the UK that it could target British military assets inside and outside Ukraine in response to Kyiv's use of British missiles in attacks on Russian targets, marking the latest escalation in rhetoric between Moscow and London.

In the same context, the UK has stepped up its military monitoring of Russian activity. The Royal Navy announced today that it had conducted a three-day operation to monitor Russian warships and vessels linked to what it calls Russia's "shadow fleet" in the North Sea and English Channel.
