Islamic Affairs Ministry launches seventh imam training in Dakar

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, through the religious attaché at the Saudi Embassy in Senegal, has launched its seventh scientific training program for imams and preachers in the Senegalese capital, Dakar. The event began yesterday at the Center for the Call to the Book and the Sunnah.

The course brings together 120 imams, preachers, and religious callers from Dakar and several regions, and will run for five days.

The opening ceremony was attended by Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Fuhaid, the religious attaché at the Saudi Embassy in Senegal, along with heads of Islamic associations and centers, as well as a number of scholars, teachers of Islamic sciences, imams, and preachers.

Course topics and objectives

The program covers topics aimed at deepening understanding of Islamic rulings and applying them to contemporary issues, with a focus on entrenching the approach of moderation and balance in fatwa.

The ministry noted that this course is part of its scientific programs outside the Kingdom, reflecting ongoing efforts to spread authentic Islamic knowledge, train imams and preachers, and promote the values of moderation and balance in various countries of the world.
