Trump vows US will never forget 9/11, pledges to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons

US President Donald Trump, speaking on the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks, said the United States will "never forget" the attacks that claimed nearly 2,900 American lives, stressing that the country "will not surrender to terrorists."

Trump added that the United States continues to work to protect its citizens and strengthen its security, noting that the nation learned from 9/11 the importance of "always being strong" and that it has the power needed to face threats.

He praised the courage of the US military in confronting terrorism after the 9/11 attacks, saying: "That is why we fight today."

The US president also affirmed that the United States is determined to ensure Iran remains free of any nuclear weapons.
