Lebanon says Israeli attacks have killed over 16,000 since March

Lebanon's Ministry of Health has announced that the cumulative death toll from Israeli attacks on the country has risen to 16,612, as the ministry continues to document casualties since the latest offensive began in March.

In a statement, the ministry said the offensive, which began on March 2, 2026, has resulted in 4,335 deaths and 12,277 injuries to date.

The ministry added that healthcare workers have suffered significant losses during the military operations, with 135 killed and 410 injured among medical staff.

According to the report, these losses were the result of 178 Israeli attacks targeting ambulance teams and medical personnel.

Since March 2, Israel has escalated its offensive against Lebanon, targeting towns, villages, cities, and civilian infrastructure. The attacks have resulted in hundreds of deaths, thousands of injuries, and the displacement of around 1.5 million Lebanese citizens, most of whom are not registered at official shelters.
