Iran warns US of devastating response to threat of harsher sanctions

Iran’s Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Ali Abdollahi, warned that any miscalculation by adversaries or their traditional and modern threats—such as imposing the harshest financial sanctions in history to topple Iran’s leadership—would be met with overwhelming, deterrent, and destructive revolutionary responses.

According to the official IRNA news agency, Abdollahi made the remarks in a message sent today to Acting Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics, Brigadier General Majid Ibn Al-Reza, on the occasion of National Defense Industry Day.

Abdollahi stated that this day embodies the greatness of Iran’s national and deterrent power in the face of unjust sanctions, adding that it highlights the tireless efforts of dedicated specialists and workers in the Ministry of Defense who have elevated the country’s defensive deterrence to its highest level.

He emphasized that Iran’s defense industry, as an indispensable pillar of national power, plays a central role in strengthening Tehran’s security.

Abdollahi stressed in his message that the Iranian armed forces, with comprehensive, intelligent readiness and up-to-date capabilities across land, sea, air, defense, space, and cyber domains, will respond to any miscalculation or traditional or modern threats from adversaries with strong, decisive, and destructive revolutionary actions.
