Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has confirmed that his presidency will end in 2030, stressing that this is "absolutely final" and that the Egyptian constitution "will not be amended."

He made the remarks during a speech at the graduation ceremony for the first class of students from the Egyptian Military Academy, where he praised the academy's role in preparing the country's future leaders.

Sisi said that protecting the nation is a shared responsibility, and that the Egyptian family is the cornerstone of building the Egyptian citizen. He added that maintaining the stability and integrity of the state requires strong institutions capable of safeguarding the people's interests.

He also reaffirmed the state's commitment to supporting the families of fallen and injured members of the armed forces.

Sisi attended the graduation ceremony alongside several senior officials and military leaders.

The president added that the government is preparing legislation to select a group of qualified individuals, numbering between 200 and 1,000, who will undergo a 30-month training program at the Egyptian Military Academy. During this period, they will learn about the state, its resources, and how to protect them.

Sisi explained that this group will give the Egyptian people the opportunity to elect and choose from among individuals who have been prepared for leadership roles. He emphasized that the goal is not limited to preparing candidates for the presidency, but also includes ministers, their deputies, governors, and key officials in vital institutions.

He added that the selection of candidates should be based on clear standards, without favoritism, focusing on competence, merit, and the ability to bear responsibility. He noted that the training program at the academy will last 30 months, totaling over 7,500 hours, with the costs covered by the armed forces.

Sisi said he is presenting this idea more than 40 months in advance to avoid any speculation that he is preparing a family member or relative for leadership. He stressed that Egypt is capable of preparing people "a hundred times better" than himself, provided they are properly trained and qualified. He also noted that holding high office requires extensive practical experience, explaining that those who have worked in ministries for six years or more are qualified to take on other ministerial roles or even the premiership. He insisted that the state should not be managed by individuals who are learning on the job.
