Nepal flood death toll rises to 734

Nepal’s disaster management authority has announced that the death toll from recent floods has risen to 734.

The authority added that this figure is not final, as the devastating floods swept through the country’s north near the Chinese border last Wednesday.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi described the landslide on the border between China and Nepal as the most severe cross-border natural disaster.

According to the Chinese minister, unprecedentedly complex and intense rescue efforts are ongoing. He noted that Beijing has shared crucial information with Nepal, including satellite images of affected areas and hydrological data.
