Trump says preparations for Hurricane Isaias under control

US President Donald Trump said that "the situation regarding preparations for Hurricane Isaias is under control," according to Bloomberg.

His remarks came after Hurricane Isaias made landfall on the eastern and southern coasts of the United States on Friday, where it was classified as a dangerous Category 2 storm.

The hurricane brought strong winds, heavy rain, flooding, and life-threatening destructive storms that struck communities in Alabama and Florida.

According to CNN, wind speeds associated with Hurricane Isaias rose to 105 miles per hour (about 169 kilometers per hour), and the National Hurricane Center expected it to briefly strengthen into a major hurricane early Friday morning.
