Egyptian president meets Jared Kushner in Alamein

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received Jared Kushner, son-in-law of former US President Donald Trump, in the city of Alamein on Sunday. The meeting was attended by Badr Abdel Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptians Abroad, and Hassan Rashad, Director of the Egyptian General Intelligence Service.

Presidential spokesperson Mohamed El-Shenawy said Kushner conveyed greetings from Donald Trump to President El-Sisi, which the president appreciated. El-Sisi emphasized the importance of the strategic bilateral relationship between Egypt and the United States and asked Kushner to convey his own greetings to Trump, expressing appreciation for the ongoing cooperation and coordination between the two countries in various areas of mutual interest.

El-Shenawy added that the meeting addressed developments in the Middle East, with President El-Sisi highlighting the need to continue working together to confront shared challenges, given both countries' commitment to supporting security and stability at the regional and international levels. He stressed the importance of resolving the region's crises to maintain regional stability.

The spokesperson also noted that the talks covered the latest developments in the Palestinian issue, with both sides emphasizing the need for all parties to fulfill their obligations under the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, which was reached at the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit in October 2025.

Kushner, for his part, praised the close coordination between Egypt and the United States and expressed his appreciation for Egypt's efforts, and those of President El-Sisi personally, in advancing peace and stability across the region. He underscored Egypt's role as a key partner for the United States in the Middle East.
