Trump says US held talks with Iran throughout Tuesday

US President Donald Trump said negotiations with Iran took place throughout Tuesday.

Trump described the talks as positive but, at the same time, warned that the US would strike Iran "very strongly" if an agreement could not be reached, according to Reuters.

Trump also stated that the Strait of Hormuz would reopen very soon and warned he would take strong action against Iran if it did not.

It is worth noting that Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz after the outbreak of war, despite it being a key waterway for energy supplies from the Middle East.
