Jordan's King Abdullah II announces cabinet reshuffle

Jordan's King Abdullah II has carried out a cabinet reshuffle.

The changes include the appointment of Walid Mohieddin Suleiman Al-Masri as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Administration, and Muhannad Shahada Khalil Khalil as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Economic Affairs.

Dr. Azmi Mahmoud Mafleh Mahafzah was also appointed as Minister of Education and Human Resources Development. The new ministers were sworn in before the king, with Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan and Royal Hashemite Court Chief Yousef Hassan Al-Issawi in attendance, according to the Petra news agency.

A royal decree was also issued approving the resignations of Walid Mohieddin Suleiman Al-Masri, Minister of Local Administration; Muhannad Shahada Khalil Khalil, Minister of State for Economic Affairs; and Dr. Azmi Mahmoud Mafleh Mahafzah, Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, from their previous posts.
