Iran's Mojtaba Khamenei warns US has no safe haven in region

Iranian leader Mojtaba Khamenei said in a message on his Telegram channel on Tuesday that regional powers will no longer serve as a shield for US bases and that the United States will have no safe haven in the region.

According to Reuters, Khamenei's remarks come as Tehran and Washington are working to reach a framework to end the war that began three months ago.

Local reports claimed the US military launched strikes on Monday in southern Iran targeting boats attempting to lay mines and rocket launch platforms, though this has not been independently confirmed. US Central Command (CENTCOM) described the operation as defensive.

He said the strikes were carried out in self-defense after Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced an attack on US destroyers in the Strait of Hormuz using cruise missiles and suicide drones.
