Yemeni reconciliation chief reaffirms unity and support for state amid Houthi escalation

Mohammed Al-Ghaithi, Chairman of Yemen's Consultation and Reconciliation Commission, has reaffirmed the commission’s full support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the government, as well as its backing for decisions and measures taken by the National Defense Council to protect the country, restore state institutions, enhance the readiness of the armed forces, and address current threats.

He also emphasized the importance of unity and solidarity, calling for the combined efforts of political parties, national groups, and organizations to stand with state institutions and the armed forces in all their formations. Al-Ghaithi reiterated support for the Presidential Leadership Council, the government, and the National Defense Council’s decisions and actions to address ongoing developments and threats, according to the Yemeni News Agency.

The commission expressed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, standing by the Kingdom in the face of attacks targeting its security, sovereignty, citizens, and resources. It also praised the sacrifices of Yemeni armed forces personnel across military, security, and resistance units supporting the state on the frontlines. The commission stressed that the current phase requires the highest levels of military and political coordination and unity of resources to confront the terrorism of the Houthi militia.

The commission held the Houthi militia fully responsible for this escalation and its consequences, accusing it of attempting to drag Yemen and its people into conflicts serving Iranian agendas. It warned that turning Yemeni land, coasts, and waters into tools for Iran’s regional ambitions threatens Yemen’s sovereignty, the interests of its people, the security of neighboring countries, and places one of the world’s most vital waterways at unprecedented risk.
