Iran will resist until aggressors regret actions, says President Pezeshkian

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Tuesday that his country will continue to resist with full force until the "aggressors" regret their actions and Iran's rights are protected, signaling a less conciliatory tone than before.

Posting on his X account, Pezeshkian stated: "The Islamic Republic of Iran has always opposed war and believes that safeguarding the interests of the people and regional security lies in avoiding conflict. However, just as Iran has bravely defended itself against aggression to this day, it will continue this resistance with full force until the aggressors regret their actions, and it will remain a protector of the people's rights."

On Monday, Iran warned it would respond to any new US attacks targeting its assets, cautioning that energy infrastructure across the Gulf—including American oil and gas interests—would be at risk.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf was quoted by Reuters as saying, "Strike our assets and you will be struck," following US and Iranian attacks on ships over the weekend that pushed oil prices on Monday to their highest level in six weeks.
