Iran’s Revolutionary Guard denies US-Israeli attack on Isfahan nuclear sites

The public relations department of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Isfahan province on Saturday denied reports that nuclear facilities in the province had been attacked by the United States or Israel.

According to Iran’s Tasnim news agency, the IRGC’s public relations office stated that claims circulating on social media about an attack on Isfahan’s nuclear facilities were “completely unfounded,” and confirmed that no such incident had taken place.

The statement warned against spreading such news in the current climate, saying it was intended to create confusion, anxiety, and psychological instability in society. It urged the public not to share unreliable information.

On August 31, the United States resumed airstrikes on Iran, marking the first American attack on the country since late July.

In mid-June, Iran and the United States announced they had reached a memorandum of understanding through international mediation led by Pakistan. The agreement included arrangements to end the war launched by the US and Israel against Iran on February 28, and paved the way for 60 days of negotiations on a broader deal covering Iran’s nuclear program, sanctions relief, and other contentious issues. However, the process later stalled, and the 60-day period ended on August 17.
