Iran executes two men over security forces' deaths in Mashhad protests

Iranian media reported that authorities in Tehran executed two men on Thursday after they were convicted of playing a role in the killing of four security officers during protests in January 2026 in the northeastern city of Mashhad.

According to the Iranian Students' News Agency, the Supreme Court upheld the death sentences for the two men, and the executions were carried out after all legal procedures were completed.

Separately, Iran's judiciary announced earlier this month that it had executed an Iranian citizen who provided Mossad with information about missile sites in Isfahan during the 12-day war.

The judiciary stated that "the death sentence was carried out against Hossein Badran for supplying Mossad with information about missile locations in Isfahan province," without providing further details about his arrest or trial.
