Palestinian Health Ministry: 17 killed in Gaza over past 48 hours

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that 17 Palestinians were killed and 27 others injured in the past 48 hours. The casualties include five newly reported deaths, one person who succumbed to previous injuries, and 11 whose bodies were recovered.

In its daily statistical report issued Saturday, citing the Palestinian news agency WAFA, the ministry said the total number of injuries since the ceasefire began has reached 4,464, while 815 bodies have been recovered.

The ministry noted that a number of victims remain trapped under rubble or in the streets, as emergency and civil defense teams are unable to reach them at this time.

The Palestinian Health Ministry also stated that Israeli forces continue to violate the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, carrying out airstrikes and artillery shelling targeting camps and areas sheltering displaced civilians.

According to cumulative statistics from the ministry, the death toll since the start of the Israeli offensive on Gaza on October 7, 2023, has risen to 73,651, with 174,575 injuries. The ministry added that 160 deaths were recently added to the cumulative total after their data was verified and approved by the Martyrs Accreditation Committee last August.
