Arab League warns of fallout from Iranian escalation on Gulf, Arab states

The General Secretariat of the Arab League has strongly condemned the renewed Iranian attacks targeting the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the State of Kuwait, warning that this new wave of escalation constitutes a serious violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of these countries, poses a direct threat to the security and stability of the region, and risks expanding the scope of conflict once again.

In a statement issued today, the Arab League stressed that the continued escalation not only threatens the security of Gulf states, but also exposes the entire regional security system to increasing risks. It undermines efforts to de-escalate tensions and jeopardizes attempts to open political pathways to resolve the crisis. The League affirmed its full solidarity with Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait, supporting their right to safeguard their sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national security, and to take legitimate measures under international law in response to any threats or attacks.

The Arab League called for an immediate halt to these attacks, urging restraint and avoidance of any steps that could widen the confrontation. It emphasized that continued escalation will not help address the root causes of the crisis, but will instead deepen it and increase its cost for the entire region. The League reiterated the need to restore the negotiating and political track as the only way to end the cycle of escalation and lay the foundations for sustainable regional security and stability.
