Jordan unveils 'Farah', region's first AI-powered government spokesperson

The Jordanian government has introduced a virtual character powered by artificial intelligence, named 'Farah', to serve as the country's first digital government spokesperson. The initiative aims to enhance official communication tools and deliver information and decisions to citizens through digital platforms.

'Farah' made her debut in an official promotional video filmed at the Prime Ministry courtyard, introducing herself as the digital spokesperson and describing the initiative as a pioneering step, the first of its kind in the region and globally.

The virtual spokesperson communicates in a simplified Jordanian dialect and will interact with the public in the future through social media platforms and WhatsApp, with the goal of providing government information in a clear, transparent, and straightforward manner.

Farah will provide updates on projects related to the Economic Modernization Vision, as well as developments and government initiatives in health, education, and infrastructure sectors, in addition to decisions affecting citizens' daily lives.

The digital character will also relay and explain certain Cabinet decisions to the public, as part of the government's efforts to deliver official information quickly and in an accessible way.

Government spokesperson and Minister of Communication Mohammad Al-Momani said the launch of the digital spokesperson 'Farah' is part of the government's drive to leverage digital technology and artificial intelligence in communication, explaining government decisions and policies, and making information available.

Al-Momani explained that 'Farah' will be one of the government's digital communication tools, aiming to provide information to citizens and interested parties.
