Iran launches attacks on US forces in Jordan, missiles intercepted

Fox News correspondent Trey Yingst reported early Monday, citing a US source, that Iran has launched attacks on American forces stationed in Jordan.

Yingst added in a post on X that the attacks have not caused any significant impact so far, noting that nearly all incoming missiles "have been intercepted up to this point."

The Iranian assault comes hours after US forces targeted two missile launch platforms belonging to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps on Larak Island, following Washington's detection of Iranian forces preparing to launch missiles loaded with naval mines toward the Strait of Hormuz.

The Revolutionary Guard had earlier vowed to retaliate against the US strike on Larak Island, announcing that the American attack resulted in deaths and injuries among Iranian fighters and civilians, without specifying the number of casualties.

Iran's state news agency and television quoted the Revolutionary Guard as saying the United States "will pay the price" for the strike on Larak Island, both economically and militarily, vowing to respond and punish those responsible for the attack.

Tensions have escalated in the region following the US strike on Larak Island, which is near the Strait of Hormuz, as Iranian media reported the launch of missiles from various locations in Iran toward targets in the region.

These rapid developments indicate an expanding confrontation between the United States and Iran, with Iran moving from threats to targeting US sites and forces in the region, amid ongoing tensions around the Strait of Hormuz.
