Iran says no hostility toward neighbors, actions target US only

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Iran does not consider its Middle Eastern neighbors to be enemies, emphasizing that Tehran’s actions are directed exclusively against the United States.

In remarks reported by Al Arabiya, Araghchi stated that after the conflict ends, Iran intends to continue dialogue with neighboring countries and work to rebuild trust with them.

The Iranian foreign minister added today that there is a shared regional understanding that Iran’s measures do not stem from hostility toward other countries in the region, but rather from other reasons that all parties recognize.

Araghchi noted that "the countries of the region will always be neighbors to one another," stressing that they must coexist in an atmosphere of calm and stability, and that it is unreasonable for relations to remain hostage to perpetual tension and disagreement.

His comments came as the Iranian military warned today that war would "expand further" if the United States continues to launch strikes against Iran, ahead of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to Washington.
