Delta flight makes emergency landing in Atlanta after cockpit smoke

A Delta Air Lines aircraft made an emergency landing in Atlanta on Saturday after the crew reported smoke in the cockpit, according to a company spokesperson.

The spokesperson said the plane, carrying more than 200 people, had departed on a flight to Florida before the crew declared an emergency shortly after takeoff and decided to return to Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta.

The airline confirmed that there have been no reports of injuries among passengers or crew members.

Delta Air Lines said in a statement that all passengers were evacuated from the plane after landing, and arrangements are being made to transfer them to an alternate flight to Orlando.

The company clarified that the aircraft was carrying 199 passengers and a crew of six.
