Israeli airstrikes kill and injure 26 in Gaza, health officials say

Mahmoud Basal, spokesperson for Gaza's Civil Defense, said ambulance crews transported the bodies of five Palestinians and around 21 injured people from several airstrikes and Israeli drone fire between Saturday morning and noon.
He added, citing Al-Sharq, that eight-year-old Shahd Abdul Razzaq Al-Najjar died from wounds sustained when an Israeli "quad-copter" drone opened fire in the Al-Rimal neighborhood of western Gaza City on Saturday morning.
The Civil Defense spokesperson also reported that three Palestinians were killed and eight injured, including a child and a woman, in a drone strike targeting a group of people near the fishermen’s port in Al-Rimal.
Separately, a security source in Gaza said Israeli forces shelled areas in the Al-Zaytoun, Al-Shuja’iya, and Al-Tuffah neighborhoods in eastern Gaza City, as well as areas east of Deir al-Balah and Khan Younis.
The source added that nine tanks and armored vehicles, accompanied by two bulldozers, advanced more than 500 meters west of the "yellow line" in the Abu Ghraba area east of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza, firing heavy machine guns toward areas housing displaced persons camps.
According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, medical sources said Saturday that the death toll in Gaza since the start of the Israeli offensive on October 7, 2023, has risen to 74,370, with 175,371 wounded.
The report added that since the ceasefire in October 2025, there have been 1,481 deaths and 5,254 injuries, in addition to 836 bodies recovered.
