Syria condemns Israeli airstrikes on Abu Al-Duhur military airport

The Syrian Arab Republic has strongly condemned the Israeli airstrikes targeting Abu Al-Duhur military airport in Idlib province, describing them as an unjustified act of aggression, a blatant violation of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and a dangerous escalation threatening security and stability in the region.

In an official statement posted on its account on the X platform, the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, “Syria affirms that the continued Israeli attacks since December 8, 2024, up to today, at a time when the Syrian state is exercising restraint and working to consolidate stability and avoid escalation, once again reveals the Israeli occupation’s attempts to undermine these efforts and drag the region into further tension and instability.”

The Syrian Arab Republic holds the Israeli occupation responsible for this escalation and calls on the international community and the UN Security Council to clearly condemn this aggression and take a firm stance against Israel’s repeated violations of Syrian sovereignty.

According to the statement, Syria reaffirmed that it will continue to defend its rights and national interests by all legitimate means guaranteed by international laws and norms.
