G7 foreign ministers condemn Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia, urge Iran to halt arms support

G7 foreign ministers on Monday called on Iran to halt its supply of weapons and support to Yemen's Houthi movement, warning that such actions represent a dangerous escalation that threatens international trade and global stability.

In a statement issued after a meeting on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, the foreign ministers of the United Kingdom, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the United States said: "We strongly condemn the ongoing and unacceptable strikes carried out by the Houthis in Yemen against Saudi Arabia."

They added: "We call on the Houthis to immediately cease all military actions, threats, and attacks on civilian vessels, and to return to the political process in good faith."
