Arab League warns Israeli violations worsening humanitarian crisis in Palestine

The General Secretariat of the Arab League has expressed deep concern over the continued Israeli violations in the occupied Palestinian territories, describing a persistent pattern targeting civilians, journalists, and humanitarian organizations, and undermining the protections guaranteed by international law.

In a statement marking the first anniversary of the Israeli airstrike on Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, which killed five Palestinian journalists, the Secretariat condemned Israeli measures to evacuate and demolish facilities belonging to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in Kafr Aqab, north of occupied Jerusalem. It stressed the need to protect journalists and humanitarian workers and to ensure accountability for violations against them.

The Secretariat emphasized that undermining humanitarian work and restricting aid access to the Gaza Strip are worsening living conditions for residents, especially children. It called for ensuring sufficient and sustained humanitarian aid, opening crossings, and expanding humanitarian space, warning that ongoing violations without accountability deepen the humanitarian crisis and erode trust in the credibility of the international system.
